Deborah Draycott answered on 13 Nov 2017:
I think there is a combination of things. I always want to do better and improve the care I give. I love learning new things which there is always chance to do in my job. But I also get great pleasure from the feedback my patients give me, a simple smile or a thank you makes all the hardwork worthwhile.

Definitely my patients, but also my partners and staff. I love the practice I work in as a GP. It’s really fulfilling working alongside patients for years and getting to know them really well.

For me it’s all about the patients – they are at the centre of what I do and I always try to do my best for them! I find that when things are tough bringing myself back to them helps me to find the energy to keep going.

Patient care is the core of why we do what we do so aiming to do that well is my biggest motivator. Knowing that you’re working to deliver good care makes difficult parts of the job worth it!
