This is a really hard question to answer! It’s surprising how you forget how you used to think before I studied and trained. The one thing I do remember believing (and my parents still do, in spite of my best efforts!!!) was that taking paracetamol for pain was a bad idea as if you used it too much it would stop working, which is just not true!

Adrian Taylor answered on 8 Nov 2017:
That there is such a thing as a left handed drip stand, as trainee nurses we would be sent round the hospital to find one, with each ward ringing ahead to say you were coming and you would basically be sent all round the hospital, psyche nurses have very wrapped senses of humour.

That my medical school was going to test my urine for alcohol levels throughout my time there.
It was in fact a fake letter from the students in the year above, signed I. P. Freely! -
Philip Williams answered on 17 Nov 2017:
on our first day, a lecturer told us all off for not having read the whole reading list over the summer. They then went on to talk about compulsory drug and alcohol testing of our urine. Turned out he was actually a 5th year student from MedSoc having a joke on us!
