Question: Why are you now a GP and not a politician?

Philip Williams answered on 8 Nov 2017:
An excellent question. I think largely it’s hugely unappealing to be a politician in the current climate as both the public and press are so intrusive. Both careers do allow you to have huge impact to improve people’s lives, which is why I’ve always been involved with “medical politics” to try and improve the NHS.

As neither, I have been told that I make a good politician as I have the gift of the gab.

Saving lives would surely be better than lying to people about changing our country, shouldn’t it?
